AI Assistant

The Koolbase Assistant lives in your dashboard and works on your actual project: it reads live state, explains how Koolbase behaves, and proposes configuration changes that are only applied after you explicitly confirm them.

Where it lives

Open any project and choose AI → Assistant in the sidebar. The assistant is scoped to the project you are viewing — ask “show me the feature flags in production” and it resolves your project and environment itself. You never need to supply an ID.

What it can see and do

The assistant works through the same APIs as the dashboard, with your permissions — never more. It reads live state on every question rather than remembering stale copies, across:

projects & environmentsDiscovery — resolves names like “production” to the right environment.
feature flagsList and explain; propose enable/disable, rollout, kill switch, description changes.
remote configList and explain; propose value changes — new values must match the config’s declared type.
code pushList releases and patches; propose publishing a draft patch or recalling a published one.

Reads happen automatically as part of answering. Anything that would change your project follows the confirmation flow below — without exception.

The confirmation contract

The assistant cannot change anything by itself. When you ask for a change, it produces a proposed change card showing exactly what would happen — the current value and the new one, as a diff — with Confirm and Cancel buttons. Nothing is applied until you click Confirm.

pendingProposed and waiting for you. Proposals expire after 10 minutes if untouched.
appliedYou confirmed; the change is live and takes effect exactly as if made in the dashboard.
cancelledYou declined; nothing happened.
failedConfirmed but the change could not be applied; the card shows why.

Confirming is a separate, authenticated action — each proposal can be confirmed exactly once, and a confirmed change lands in your audit log like any other. An assistant-applied flag or config change triggers the same realtime updates and device snapshots as a dashboard edit.

Conversations

Conversations are saved per project and listed in the panel beside the chat — they survive refreshes and follow you across devices. Start fresh with New chat, reopen any previous conversation, or delete ones you no longer need. Reopened conversations show proposal cards in their true final state.

Example prompts

“Show me the feature flags in production”
“Why isn’t my new_checkout flag doing anything?”
“Change accent_color in production to #FF5733”
“List the patches on my latest release”
“Recall the bad patch on release 6”
“How does code push work on iOS?”

Limits

The assistant is a project guide, not a general-purpose chatbot — it declines questions unrelated to Koolbase or your project. Usage is capped per organization per day; the cap is generous for real project work. Proposals it makes are subject to the same validation as the dashboard: a config value that does not match its declared type, or publishing a patch that is not a draft, is refused at proposal time rather than failing after you confirm.
